The Future of Logos Wilderness Therapy
90 Day Residential Wilderness Therapy Program
A primary deficit in the current assistance for survivors of trafficking is trauma specific mental health services. These services, we believe, are a foundational part of sustainable movement toward healing and freedom. Being a part of filling this gap in supporting survivors on their journey towards healing is why we exist. This is also why our five year goal is to fill this gap further by establishing a three month in-patient wilderness therapy treatment program for survivors of sexual exploitation.
By combining the catalytic benefits of nature with multiple evidenced-based individual and group therapy modalities specific to complex trauma, survivors in this program will be empowered and given space to begin to reimagine, restore, and reclaim their stories and their futures.
To accomplish these outcomes, we will establish a “home” base within an area rich with outdoor adventure and immersion in nature opportunities. We plan to utilize this wilderness safe house as a jumping off pad for adventure activities, as well as, a place of safety and comfort to return to. This home will facilitate therapeutic groups, provide space to process the experiences and impact of trauma, and build community and self-efficacy.
Current Survivor Programs
Freedom is in Our Nature
Multi-Day Survivor Therapy Trips
These trips are clinically guided wilderness therapy trips designed to create supportive space for survivors to engage their healing journey in intentional ways. Through adventure activities, therapeutic groups, and a challenge by choice philosophy, survivors are empowered and supported to reimagine, restore, and reclaim their stories. Currently, these trips are held in wilderness areas in both Wyoming and Colorado and are open to adult survivors from around the country.
Please contact us if you are interested in coming or hearing more about our therapy trips!
Training Courses for Survivor Organizations
We believe that all survivors and organizations working with survivors can utilize nature in catalytic ways towards healing. Our wilderness therapy training courses are designed to help organizations and/or individuals discover creative ways to engage interpersonal neurobiology with nature and co-create an environment for healing. These courses are specific to the unique needs of the organization. If your organization is interested, please contact our Clinical Director at Chelsea@logoswilderensstherapy.org.
